Devotionals – November 24, 2013
The book of Daniel is made up of two halves. The first half records stories of Daniel and his friends living as faithful people of God in exile. They provide models of how God’s people should live as strangers and aliens in this world. The second half contains future visions of the end time. These visions reassured God’s sovereignty and power to His people even though they were in exile. The central theme of this book is God’s sovereignty over history and empires. God is so in control of this world that nothing can thwart His Kingdom plan.
